Morning Mobility to Change Your Life
We are in a prolonged position throughout the night and tend to wake up and feel super stiff, and have some pain in your muscles and joints, and often find yourself limping to the bathroom. That can often lead us to stumble or trip or worse feel 10 years older than we are!
A 10-minute routine that can absolutely change the way you feel in the morning and consecutively lay the foundation for how you curate your day is much easier than we think.
Well, I am here to tell you that dedicating 10-15 minutes per day to your morning routine will make you feel, look, and move better than you ever have.
Moving your joints through its available range of motion in the morning will help kick start your day, by improving your movement, abilities, your energy levels, and your blood circulation.
It will also help you get into a more parasympathetic state, which will make you much calmer, and more relaxed, and focused.
Instead of rushing into the day, and feeling like I need to move quickly, get a million things done before I rush out the door, I am able to move much more with intention, and more relaxed, which carries out throughout the day.
Take a look at a dog after a great night of sleep, or after a restful nap. I can guarantee he/she will yawn, and have a nice, big beautiful stretch.
Let’s take a more in depth look on the Positive Effects of a Morning Mobility routine:
?? all night we are in limited positions and that tends to make our joints, ligaments stiff.
?? if we carry on with our day with this stiff body, we are making our bodies prone to increased risk for arthritis, more wear and injuries.
?? hence we need to “lotion” our joints through motion in its full or available range before putting our body weight on them and carrying on with our demands of the day.
?? you may do more of the movements which feels good and do it as much or as little as you want. The goal is to move major joints through their range to warm them up for your day.
?? end this routine with 3 gratitude’s of the day to kick off on a good note.
?? following this regularly, you will notice reduced tightness, stiffness, improved feeling of being limber and agile and overall more energy in your body.
?? modify it based on your needs and liking.
?? do it at a comfortable pace.
Here’s something you may not have known!
Let me start off by saying; mobility and flexibility are completely different, and too often, they are thought to be similar, but they are not.
Mobility refers to how freely a joint can move throughout its full range of motion.
Flexibility refers to the length of a muscle; and it can be increased when stretching in a proper way.
Your nervous system also plays a crucial role in your mobility and flexibility, and how you react to a stretching routine.
Joint mobility, muscle length, muscle tension/tissue quality and your nervous system influence -they all interact with one another and result into how you move, feel and perform throughout the day.
When you have your health, and you feel great, you will perform better in your daily life, you will be better and provide more in your relationships, and you will do your work, and fulfill your purpose much more efficiently and effectively.
